Don't depend on the federal government

Welcome to the Midweek Memo.

Welcome to the Midweek Memo: a weekly digest of the city’s top tech events, personnel moves, job openings, and industry opportunities.

Before we get into this, check out the results from the Weekly Poll: On Sunday, we asked if the federal government does enough to attract investors and support Canada's cleantech sector. 60% of you said no.

“The success of Canada's cleantech sector shouldn't be dependent on the federal gov't.” - Zak

“The federal government is spending large amounts of money and has many programs in place to drive clean tech. The issue is that these programs are not driving results. And results are what investors want to see. In my opinion, the federal government could spend taxpayers resources (money, people and time) more efficiently with a focus on results.” - George
