Are you one of Canada's 50 most investable cleantech ventures?

Applications for the annual Foresight 50 are back.

Foresight Canada announced that applications are now open for its third annual Foresight 50 – a list recognizing Canada’s most investable cleantech change-makers that are leading the charge to net zero.

The Foresight 50 program connects Canada’s top cleantech ventures with cleantech investors, industry leaders, and partners from around the world.

Last December, Foresight Canada announced the honourees for its second Foresight 50. 17 businesses on the list hailed from Calgary (15) and Edmonton (2), Alberta – 34 percent of the list. In the initiatives’ first year, 18 firms featured from Alberta.

For 2023, applications are being accepted until July 21 on Foresight’s website. A panel of investor judges will then carefully select the 2023 Foresight 50, and the honourees will be announced November 8, 2023 at the in-person Foresight 50 Celebration in Calgary.

Foresight’s goal is to see Canada become the first G7 country to reach net zero. According to Jeanette Jackson, CEO of Foresight Canada, Canada needs to “aggressively commercialize and scale Canadian solutions” and support access to capital. To attract capital, companies need to gain the recognition of investors with the resources to propel their ventures forward. That’s where the Foresight 50 comes in. It’s meant to bridge the gap by shining a light on Canada’s most promising cleantech ventures while directly connecting these companies with investors, customers, and partners.
