The secret to career success

Welcome to the Midweek Memo.

Welcome to the Midweek Memo: a weekly digest of the city’s top tech events, personnel moves, job openings, and industry opportunities.

Before we get into this, check out the results from the Weekly Poll: On Sunday, we asked if you were concerned about the ethics of AI and data usage. 62% of you said yes.

From the community:

“Advertising has been using AI for a long time, so I'll use it as an analogy for other AI tools. As creepy as it is to see well-targeted ads, it's preferable to the absolutely random ads I got before the technology was activated. Taking another angle, post-production in photography had ethical concerns, but now we're so used to it that the technology is literally built into our phone cameras and we love it.”

“Data security and privacy are concerns. Many organizations do not have an adequate data life cycle and retention policy. Which leads to: as a citizen, employee, customer, person walking down the street: how is that information about you being used, by whom, for how long and what ethics and security standards are being used?”

Now, on to your Midweek Memo…
