Who’s headed to SXSW 2024?

Source: SXSW

For almost 40 years, SXSW has been bringing together leaders and innovators in tech, film, music, education, and culture. Held in Austin, Texas, the week-long event is jam-packed with professional development events, in-depth speaking sessions, tech competitions, and exhibitions — not to mention the concerts and comedy shows. It’s no surprise that SXSW attracts big names like President Barack Obama, Stacey Abrams, Scott Galloway, and Elizabeth Warren.

This year, joining the crowd at SXSW is Alberta Innovates and 50 high-potential companies looking to make connections, attract potential investors and take in learning opportunities at one of the world’s largest tech conferences.

Delegates will participate in one-on-one meetings, attend invite-only networking events, and participate in workshops and events — all made possible by the support of Alberta Innovates’ Scaleup GAP program as part of its efforts to grow companies, create jobs, and foster innovation.

The 50 attending companies represent the following sectors:

  • Healthtech

  • Climatech

  • Fintech

  • Proptech

  • Cybersecurity

  • Quantum technologies

  • B2B SaaS

  • Media SaaS

  • Edtech

  • Legal tech

  • Auto tech

  • Audio tech

  • Marketplace

SXSW 2024 takes place March 8-16 in Austin, Texas.
